Fill in the blank
I think that it's important to be very clear and concise when creating fill in the blank questions.
I don't like fill in the blank questions because students often have almost the right word, or the basis of the word, but not the exact word, and it is not fair to be so precise they get marked wrong if the concept is known.
I agree, however, spelling counts too
I have found these questions to be problematic if you are not careful in your wording. There can be multiple answers that could fit, and that causes frustration for students. I try to stick with Essay, T/F and Multiple Choice.
