Assessing Student Knowledge

By employing proven methods of assessing student
knowledge, and sometimes experimenting with new methods, instuctors are sure to be using reliable and valid knowledge and application assessment tools.

I have found that varying the types of questions seems to provide a much better result in terms of assessing learning.

Hi Katherine- Thanks for your post to the forum. You are doing a great job of maintaining the validity of your assessments!Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan

I agree - I redo every test I give each time to make sure it hits on the learning objectives I covered with that particular class. Usually the tests stay very much the same, but tailoring it to the content that was covered in class is very important.

each instructor must do this for each class.. each learning is different for each class.

Each method should be as the class understands the program. some are more advanced then others.

I agree to a some what comment.. but should not an instructor find and develop his/her own testing metheds?
