use of multiple choice

I usually use multiple choice since I want students will use the concepts of biology to better understand what they learn in their vet classes. They don't necessarily need to remember every detail just general concepts. Maybe their are better ways of doing this?

I prefer multiple choice tests because are easier to construct and I can measure the true progress of my students.

My tests carry mutiple choice, T/F, and some essay to be sure the student is understanding the content.

im not a fan of multiple choice because of that reason. I personally prefer constant thinking questions, ones that will not "jog" your memory.

HI Heidi- You could also vary your tests by adding short answer or even matching. Best wishes- Susan
