Effective Assessments
I do tend to lean toward multiple choice questions, because my students will be taking this form of test for medical certification. I do at times give other varieties. Skills performance tests are more fact based and I must meet the guidlines set forth by our accreditors.

Hi Francesca - Actually, I really prefer to use tests that are of a mixed variety. Students are usually mixed concerning the sort of questions that they prefer, so mixing up the question types makes the test more fair for everyone. Best wishes! Susan
Although i am grateful for standardized tests i feel more fulfilled when i can create a test myself and incorporate some of the other methods.
do you think it is ok to create a test and have some questions that are multiple choice, some completions, a little short answers and some matching? or, should one stick to a particular style throughout each test?
