that is so very true. Even if I don't feel very well I always start my class with a lot of enthusiasm and energy. We are sort of like actors and actressess, our classroom is our stage.

Positive energy is a must!!!!!
Even when my class starts at 7:15 am I make sure i am the most energennic one in the room, this carries the flow of your class for the day. If an instructor comes iin tired or says i need my coffee the students feel that if you are not up for the day, why should they?
(B12 helps)

I used to start my class on the first day with "Welcome to my favorite class" I could see the students smile and lean in towards me. If we are excited about the subject it will be contagous. Passion and teaching with your heart is very important.

Positive energy sets the stage for motivating the students to learn engaging their participation in class discussion.

I believe the positive energy is vital part of the lesson plan. The educator can motivate, encourage, and help navigate but he or she must be able to gage the energy flow in the class.

Edward,
it really is vital that the instructor come ready to engage the students in the very active "sport" of learning.

I believe positive energy is very important as well as setting the intent for yourself and your students that learning and continued learning is beneficial.

I have had classes that would have gone very poorly if the energy level was less than a high level. Some of our courses have a diverse group and unless the instructor brings their " A " game the completion rating can really suffer.

ghia,

yes, & the class environment really does depend heavily on the energy or approach of the instructor.

True, as an instructor it is very important to have a positive energy because if you don't then it have a big impact on your students.

I agree that the excitement in the class most of the time begins with the instructor being excited and engaging discussion with students.
