And the Beat Goes On

During the learning period it is best to play soft music or what we call elevator music when students are learning. When students are in groups, we could speed up the beat a little because they neet the boost in brain waves. Towards the end of the class, the music should be low and slow for the review before we leave for the evening

i think no music should be played during test time

But what do you do for those who can not concentrate while music is playing during an exam?

Hi Deborah!

Thanks for the question?

The first thing that I would do is to be sure the "every" student in the class is OK with having music during test taking.

Take a look at the following even though it speaks to children, I can't imagine that it would be different for adults - if all adults agree.

Please post your research results when you find something different.

Keep up the good work!

What type of music if any would you recommend be played when the students are actually taking a test?

I agree. This tends to also calm students when they become a bit rowdy.
