Learning Activities
I like the section on Games and Simulations I use this method in my class, my students really enjoy when we play games as a review for a test they enjoy this more then any other review and it helps the ones that seen to have a hard time taking test.
Geary,
these are great ways to help the students review as well as to help all students to be engaged.

I have had my students break up into various groups and given the responsibility that each group select a chapter and build a game from it. I have had Family Feud, Jeopardy, Let's Make a Deal, and many other game shows they mimic their presentation after.
I will bring small chocolate candy and pass it out to the best person in the audience or group with the correct answers.
I have used the "Loser Rock" which is a rock with the word loser painted on it. It must be maintained by the losers until the next game where they maintain the rock or pass it on. More interaction takes place when students look at the game as a competition.
For testing purposes we play "Flash My Answer". This is a game that involves a question is placed on the PowerPoint slide and the answer zoom's in once an answer is given. This is very time consuming but the learning increases and so does the attendance.
I agree. Most studnets like the games as long as they are not to childish. Something slightly challenging.
