It seems to me that beginning with the end in mind lets the entire class focus on what each member hopes to come away with at the end. That is why a discussion (not just a reading) of the course learning objectives is so important to the success of the class. Through discussion, each student has an opportunity to talk about and learn from others just whatis important and relevant to him or her. Then as the class progresses, referring to the learning objectives, the students can see just where they are in relation to where they want to be and will be at the end of the term.
i teach in a culinary school and i use this practice in both my lab classes (showing final product first then showins the technique on how to get there) and academics classes (for example giving the results for my food and beverage class and they have to find the way there).
it is a great tool
Hi Shukmei!
I think that beginning with the end in mind is very useful for course that are directly related to processes. Classes that are more subjective in nature could be a bit more challenging. What do you think?
Keep up the good work!

I like to give student the statistical results before they learn how to use calculator to find out the answers.
