I am not currently teaching; I am the librarian. By decorating the library with colorfull seasonal decoration and playing classical music, I can positively effect the memeory of the students who use the library.By letting students have conversation and discussions in the library they are expanding each others knowledge and learning to teach themselves.

Breaking info into packets or information chunking is a process I'll have to look into further.

Teresa,

That's great & I'm glad you've found it helpful. It is amazing how much we know yet for whatever reason, often fail to do.

I struggle with this all the time. I have a few coping techniques I have developed:

1) If the teacher mentions something more than once in class I make sure I remember it.

2) I re-transcribe my notes the first hour I get home after class.

3) I write down "taskers" or suggestions the instructor brings up during class, and try to follow them as often as possible (gives the impression you care).

I teach Pharmacology and have long known and communicated that the best way to learn it is by organizing it into categories. However, I have not done a very good job of demonstrating this strategy. This presentation encourages me to reshape my teaching strategies to present the content differently in order to enhance the categoric leaning.

A great idea. I would also think this would help with trouble-shooting as they can check to see if correct ingredients were added in the correct way.

This is a great idea & maybe also connect specific points to the learning objectives so they can see the connection.

In my culinary set-up usind the white board to prioritze the main ingredients used in production that day will help the student understand their importance and usefulness, and will also help for future backward chain review.

Not only will I introduce the learning objectives at the beginning of the Live Chat, but I will review the learning objectives at the end also.
