Eye Contact
Hello Learners,
In terms of eye contact within the online setting this would relate to maintaining communication through email and within the discussion forum. As an online instructor it is so important to create a positive rapport with the learners and give them all the resources needed to be successful. When conducting live chats, I always welcome each student to let them know that I am aware of their presence and always open the forum to questions and comments.
Hi Angela!
I totally agree! I think an online instructor has to be very cleverly in how they stay connected to their students as well as help their students stay connected with each other. I had an online instructor that made a large part of our grade dependent on realtime chats. It turned out to be a very good experience.
Keep up the good work!

In relation to online learning, it is imperative that the instructor reply to student questions in a timely manner. Also, grade their assignments in a timely mannter.
Hi Frank,
Eye contact is extremely important when it comes to identifying learning weaknesses of the students. An online educational setting is fine, but what allows the student to ask questions or stay after class and request additional assistance is when the student sees that their has been a connection made between the instructor and student, this applies mainly on the shy students.
