It is very important that creating interest about the content of the class, by that the student can motivate to concentrate on the subject.
It seems as if Gen Y learners expect most of the course content to be "busy work" just to fill class time. So, it's important to explain how what is being taught is relevant to their chosen career.

It is important for the student to see the "what's in it for me". The students need to understand how the information will relate to them and how they will be able to use it in the future.
