Groups and Diversity
Groups and Diversity: By dividing students into groups with using diversity each student’s life’s experience will and to the other student’s education.
Hi David!
I totally agree and where circumstances permit, perhaps, changing group members around.
Good job!

When breaking students into groups, I find that the same students will gravitate to each other due to the fact that most of them have been together for a number of classes. They form alliances and like to be in the same groups. This can cause difficulty when performing certain tasks as they just want to have fun and we need to monitor them more closely. I discourage this grouping and encourage creating groups whom the members don't really know each other.
I have found that dividing the students in groups and changing the groups really helps everyone. The changing of the groups keeps the ideas and different out looks flowing.
Many students have wonderful experiences to share with all of us. I share my experiences with students and when they share their experiences with the rest of the class, not only can other students learn from them, but I can often use these as examples to reinforce certain parts of my lecture as well. I have found that this helps with class rapport and it fosters teamwork as well.
