Organizing Student Learning Groups

Student groups are excellent tools of learning. Even when an instructor communicates a concept in a very good way, it helps to hear that concept from another person. Groups and group discussions among students help with acheive this.

Groups and group discussion do help students learn. Sometimes the students listen better to each other. And other times they can break the concept down for each other in a way the teacher can't.

Student learning groups are excellent to help students succeed in areas where they may be struggling and help speed up the instructional content process. On the other hand, if one or more students in a student learning group is absent or tardy it changes the dynamic of the learning process and ultimately slows the instructional content down.
