Student groups help them engage in conversation about the project given. It helps them be able to communicate among their peers for a better understanding soemtimes

I too have found this to be very true. In fact it's always great to hear comments from their peers as they'll say something like: I never knew this person was so much fun & had such great ideas!

I agree! Also I have found that a quiet student in a classroom setting will offer more input when placed in smaller groups. It gives them more confidence to express their ideas.

Yes, and paying attention to diversity or preferred Learning Styles helps all students enjoy an opportunity to participate.
