groups
you need to be a team player no one person knows eveything. You will need help from someone else at some point.
By directing the activities of the group, it assists the quiet or shy students to know their role in the group and on the assignment.
That's true, not everyone is a team-player. Some people are very shy, some don't have strong knowledge of the subject and feel embarrased and quite, some are just introverts and can't work in groups. To make a group helps to mixt all kind of personalyties and people of different levels of knowledge for best learning outcomes.
Latasha,
yes, & helping our students to realize that they will be working as part of a team can help them appreciate these group assignments.

This is so true. I enjoy the team work we have on my job. If I need something or I need a questioned answered I can always go to my teammates and they are willing to help.
steve,
and groups are a great way for our students to start to learn this important concept.
