What if groups dont fit in to course content or class size

My Class has four students. A group project is not effective. How can I counter this?

Priscilla ,
this is an excellent way to help both students as the stronger student finds value in this & the weaker student is helped.

Yes pairing a student who needs help with a stronger student usually helps that student to feel more comfortable and involved and they become more expressive.

We also use the buddy system to help students feel like they are helpinh themselves.

One effective strategy is pair share. Student's work with a partner throughout the term and each group member is assigned particular tasks. I tend to use this strategy quite a bit as many low skill level student's accept help more easily from a peer than from an instructor.

Gregory,
I think you could still incorporate a group project for these 4, just so they get the experience of working in a group.
