I have found that if I incorporate some technology into my lecture, I can assist students who possibly are not, at the moment, fully comprehending the material. I do this by making powerpoint presentation of the lecture materials available for students to download. I also do a summary slide for each section.
I agree I also add diffrent things to my lec to help them and to see if they have pick up on the materal.
We seen to be thinking the same. I like developing new tools to teach. I use a maze game to allow students to put together the lab values.
These activities tend to make learning and recall stronger.
I agree - I make sure my lecture notes are on line so I can e-mail them to prospective students before class begins so they can have a concrete copy and make their own notes as I lecture.
I have found also James, that having the presentations available for the students to print or download helps alot. As a student myself, I will always print out presentations and then write my notes on them and it helps me recall the lecture.
