Reading/Writing Deficiencies
We have some students who come right out of high school who still do not how to write properly. It takes away from the learning online.
I am teaching English and find the deficiencies beyond my ability to address in one course. The students have poor writing skills, organization skills, reading skills, and lack critical thinking skills. It feels like they need a year of catch-up courses first, to get a foundation of basic RRR and study skills, before they can tackle college work successfully.

I have a student that did not learn to read until he was 18 and out of high school. I have been having him to come early and review basic writing techniques.
