Motivators

Giving the student expectations and required learning outcomes from the start can be a motivator.

Yes, I agree that giving goals and outcomes at the start is a good way to motivate students but I also think that as they continue through the course it is important to refer back to those goals to keep the motivation alive.

yes, we all need those goals to help us stay focused & committed so this is a great way to help our students.

I agree. If students have set goals,they are much more likely to stay motivated and engaged. Also, when they can accurately measure their progress in terms of clearly defined course expectations, objectives and requirements, students are less likely to give up.
