disabilities

Students with disabilities do not need charity. They need someone who understands what it takes for the student to absorb the information. If the instructor is patient, and truly interested in teaching, they will figure out how to reach the student no matter what their disability is.

This is where you will need to dig deep into your bag of trick to find a way to get to them. And as far a the time forget about it.

I agree. Many of my students who have add issues in the past just needed a little adjustment to my instruction. For instance, I have had students in the past that would simply need their test read to them. They could read, but for some reason they grasped the question more accurately when they would hear it.

This is ture. i hate to give them any specil treatments. it makes them feel bad and needie.

I couldn't agree more. I have found that a lot of time the students just need more time, or need to be away from the other distractions in the classroom. An instructor has to be patient, and willing to help the student succeed. However, the student also has to want to succeed, not just get passed along.
