dyscalcula or frustration

This is the first time I have heard of this disability. It got me to start thinking about how many of my students say that they are dyslexic or can't do math are just frustrated or disinterested.
I understand the concept of switching the letters to determine if a student is dyslexic. How can I determine if a student has dyscalula?

I too have never heard of this disability or some of the others. I was only familiar with dyslexia. I hate math and have a fear of it but I would not say that I was dyscalculic. Who knows maybe I could find a doctor to say I was, but in my opinion, I would have to really research this type of disability to fully understand it.

That is a very interesting subject I must say. I for one have a great deal of trouble understanding some of the various formulas in various mathmatic problems.
If I sit and look at the information I can most of the time find the answer, but to write the formula out so that someone could follow it is part of my problem with it. I recently finished some business courses that were online. I had some real struggles with some of the problems. I do believe that if I had to do those classes over again, I would want to sit in a class room and see if having the Instructor and other students to talk to might help.
