Learning Disabilities
Learning disabilities: Students with learning disabilities (from what I found) need more time because they want to understand more than what is presented to them. The student will take the information given to them and dissect it into many different pieces of information.
My experience has been while with the student and find he understands the concept of the assignment, he will for some reason not read the notes that his note taker took or read the notes he took himself
One of the things I ask my student with a disability is how they understand the concept that is being taught. If I know the way they think then I try to teach the same concept in another way and I continue doing this until the student is able to tell me the concept correctly. It does take time, but it is rewarding to know the student understands.
