open ended questions for are students

As an instructor, we should always use open ended questions to get are students interested in what we are doing in class, for some of our students that are shy, it helps them get questions ensured, so it reflects how much they are picking up in all of the lessons.

Sonny,

This is true. I do introductions on the first day, either the students introduce themselves, addressing certain topics, or they work in pairs to introduce each other. I choose which way according to the size of the class. This helps with interactions from the beginning.

In order to do open ended questions on various students is to first get to know the students. Shy students, loud students, troublesome students, etc. By understanding who you are dealing with, designing open ended questions would be a lot more effective.

David,

Absolutely! We can do this by asking questions they are able to answer and using probing to guide them to the correct answers.

Yes we should alway try to get students interested in what we are doing in class. for those students that are shy it could help bring out that conversation from them in turn helping them feel more at ease in the class room

I couldnt agree more Dave. Open ended questions alow you to get an idea of weather or not the students are grasping the materials and to what extent. Also give you a chance to hear there preception of the lesson, as well as thoughts and ideas.

David,

We may also use questions to gather how much knowledge our students bring to the class. In my experience, I have found that students enjoy interactive classes more.
