Going over these concepts under these names refreshed and refined my understanding on how to effectively help my students retain content. I highly recommend this rather intensive course to all educators. I think it should be a required course.

I believe it is important for instructors to teach students how to decode information because we frequently give students so much information it is difficult for them to retain every word we speak

These three methods are key for adult learners returning to new college material. Students can decode: new vocabulary words, recode: into new meaning of application, and use scaffolding: building on the past information but new application of meaning or delivery.
