will measurement of IQ always reflects the level of inteligent
i believe the human IQ not always reflects the individual inteligence because in any giving time this individual can show social and reflective inteligence that cant be mesure by Iq
Daniel,
This has been my experience as well. I like to work with and be around individuals that are able to think through situations and solve problems. Their IQ number does not mean a thing to me, but what does matter is that they put forth the effort and have the self discipline needed to be successful in their career choice.

I do not think a high IQ always translates to perceived intelligence. I know some people with above average IQ's but very little common sense so they appear less intelligent.
Wayne,
This is why I like the quote "It isn't how smart you are but how you are smart" that helps you with being successful.

I would totally agree with this. Dealing with the vast diversity of students I deal with I find IQ does not promote common sense.
Shonna,
This belief has been the foundation of my research into multiple intelligences that past twenty years. The IO test is based upon cognitive processing and intelligence is much more than that as you mention. I have created an assessment called Talent Key that identifies the three dominant intelligences among the seven that Howard Gardner has identified. We use the results in creating learning plans for students so they can utilize their intelligences more effectively in their classes.

I believe that intelligence is not represented well outside of academic testing. There are many that are genious in their fields such as artists, musicians and athletes but may not test well on an IQ exam.
Vic,
Applied intelligence is such a valuable asset for students to have. The more "common sense" they can develop as they use their given talents and intelligence the more successful they are going to be in their lives.

I believe it is a measure of potential intelligence... It must be applied.
