Good point concerning student diversity. Diversity comes in so many different packages so we instructors need to keep our observational skills at there highest so we can make sure we are "reading" our students and can be responsive to their needs for support.

I think our understanding as teachers in what diversity is and what it means is vital to the success of our students. We need to understand that diversity is more than ethnicity or sexuality. We as teachers needs to help create an inclusive space in the classroom so that our students can feel comfortable in learning through each others experiences and understanding.

I agree with you. Diversity brings a different view of our world, open our vision to more option and solutions.
Yes. Having a "mixed up" class room is fun and interesting. Sometimes it can lead to hurdles, such as language misunderstanding but those hurdles are worth it when compared to the overall benefit of the diversified class.

Diversity is such a generalization, we take it for granted, especially in big cites, but forget how personal and key it is for teachers and students.
Diversity allows an instructor to gather valuable new ideas for solving problems--insights that might not occur to one single culture.
Yes, I beleive it is invaluable to the learning process.
