I find it very important to get the students to recognize what has been achieved so far. They soon forget, that when they started they knew nothing. All I here is what they didn't learn yet. So a recap is very important
Issa,
A few timely words can be powerful motivators for students. We need to remember this as we work with our students especially after giving out graded projects and exams.

From my own experience, encouraging the students by telling them “Good Job†“I’m proud of you†when they finish an assignment or exam will boost them to do better in the next assignment. Even the adult learner needs it too. Also, I used a group discussion to let them get familiar with each other and I got a good result encouraging them to participate.
It is imperative that students feel a sense of accomplishment. Recognizing what they have done and how it all pulls together brings excitement to them. A lot of times we have service learning activities that enhance what they have done thus far and empowering them to continue!
Hi Jeannine,
This is a good point because as you know students can forget the progress they have made because they are focused on the next assignment, test, etc..
This is a great way for them to see they have acquired new knowledge and skills since starting the course.
