As I am a Registrar I need to know how to recharge my instructors?

This is such an important thing to do now and then. Seeing our course through the eyes of our students we can see how we can customize our instruction to have even more value to for our students.

I agree that it's all about perspective when "in a rutt". By taking a class and becoming a student once again, it reminds us to occasionally put ourselves into the "shoes" of our own students to evaluate how effective we are in our presentations. It can be a reminder of WHY we we called to teaching in the first place.

These are rewarding elements in the teaching process. Seeing that student become engaged and focused on his or her future is powerful and gets us ramped up and ready to come back to the classroom or lab.

i think what gives me a recharge is when a student has a bad atitude and i change it around on him or her

I think this module is great because it gave me ideas on how to recharge. There are times that I felt drained because no matter how much I tried using different strategies, some students do not get it.. I just need to reminisce and refocus on why I wanted to teach...
I feel that the idea of rewarding or at least recognizing instructors is critically important to maintaining motivation. If someone is feeling a little burnt out, a well timed compliment can help to reinvigorate! Also, providing useable constructive criticism can help provide more experienced teachers with a challenging goal.

It works doesn't it. Being outside of the classroom or lab and letting students see how the real world operates is a great way to get them and yourself excited about the class and the content that is being shared.

Recharge to me is by taking outside classes in the field that I am teaching....sometimes even taking a class that I could teach with my eyes closed hearing someone else teach the same subject gives a new perspective or new ideas on what to add to the class.
All instructors can get into a rutt, so the best thing to do is to recharge, change things up so you can come back with enthusiasim.
Recharging instructors can include providing them with the resources and materials they need to be successful. Have regular meetings to keep them in the loop. Rewarding their successes in addition to identifying areas they might need to work on or improve in are also ways to recharge instructors or for that matter keep instructors charged

I find that taking this course, ED 102, stimulating and a great way to recharge and get ready for the next quarter.
