Focusing on the topics and not letting student get off the subject

Good strategy to use. This type of reinforcement is needed to keep the students forward focused in their learning. The more we can help them connect the dots between class sessions the greater the content retention.

When I begin to notice a decline in the participation from the class, I go back and reiterate previous topics that they have mastered. This includes both visual and physical reinforcement of those skills. This gets the class back to focusing again.
Any new ideas pertaining to the topic that has been discussed helps in the understanding of the topic. Visual ideas seem to help greatly, and bothcognitive and visual ideas have a greater impact in regenerating Refocus into a stale subject.
