I agree. I work in new digital media and teach film. I find that using my skills in digital media translates well into the classroom. Since everything is digital in todays world and technology constantly changes I find myself continually learning and training myself in new techniques and practices which I institute in my classes daily.

Yes, it can plus it helps to keep you engaged and excited about teaching. It is easy for instructors to fall a routine and then become bored with what they are teaching. We need to bring excitement to the classroom each time we enter it.
