refocus

How can I refocus a large group of students who have lost focus in a subject?

Thomas,
They really can. They validate what we have been teaching and increase the value of the content to the students. The students get to meet and hear from individuals that have been where they are and now have moved into their career field. They send a very powerful message about relevancy and application to our students.

Guest speakers can reignite a student's passion for the profession they are entering. Seeing a successful representative whom has a positive outlook on the student's career choice provides the student with a glimpse into their future.

Marcie,
Create small groups and assign them projects, such as mini-reports or case studies. Bring in a guest speaker to talk about how the course content is used in the work place. This will increase their motivation and help them see the relevancy in what you are teaching.
