Hi Josue,
Pacing and variety are the two key words to use when planning for a 4 hour class. I teach from 4 until 10:00 pm and so I have had to develop a wide variety of activities to keep the students engaged. I start with some type of activity to get the students settled into the course for the evening. Then I rotate lecture and activity until about 30 minutes before the end of the class. It is at this time I play games with my students. The games are things like Jeopardy. I create teams and we have competitions. While playing the games we are reviewing what we have covered and summing up the class. These efforts really help the class to move quickly for the students.
