Are students more easily motivated by having early classesor later class who knows what is the best learning time is. What are some of the stress problems assocaited with early classes or late classes?
In the morning, Best thing i do is have a whole lot of energy In my teaching. I make crazy noises to wake the morning students, plus ask them what they think about anything aven of in is off subject!
Nights you need to be very sharp and more on you game to teach. I find the students are more restless and like to discuss topics on the subject better, but fall off faster and get bored fast.
Hi Brian,
Great question. Students learn best when they are motivated to learn. This can be anytime of the day or night. We currently have classes that start at 11:00pm and run until 2:00am. The motivation is high with this group because they are all in the medical field and this is the only time they can take the classes need for career advancement. Their motivation comes from both increased knowledge as well as financial increase. It is a mixed bag on best learning times and how motivation works. I teach from 4 until 10. My students have worked all day so they are tired but I incorporate a lot of activities along with lecture and they stay focused throughout the entire class. It is hard work because by 10:15 I am worn out and more than ready to go home.
