Motivation is vital to each and every student if they want to learn and pass the class as well as enjoy the materials.

True and well said. Some students do not respond in anyway. The key is to do as you say and that is be professional and deliver the content in the most effective and efficient way possible.

Motivation can be difficult with some students, you can throw every possible "trick" at them and get no response...personal information can open up a can that no one can handle...in the end one has to make sure all the information is presented in the best way possible
This is so true. Too many times there are students who are "just there." We, as instructors need to find ways to motivate all of our students to the best of our abilities. Finding out some persnal information in the beginning of each course wouls help us reach this factor.
