Motivating Your Students

Expecting success, developing a community of learners, placing a value on learning, can aid in keeping your students motivated.

Being prpared, adding your own personal work experience with the topics of the lecture, keeps the students very alert an motivated. As they are not only getting information from a book but also real life senarios

I agree that looking at your classes as a community of learners is key. My classes are usually groups of students that by the time I see them have been with each other for awhile, so there is already a sense of community established. It is good to use that community to encourge high standards and expectations, healthy competition and respect. I have seen groups of students really pull each other through a difficulty task or assignment.
