Motivating Students

Sometimes it can be hard to movitate a student who just doesn't care, but I always do my best to try anything that might spark an interest in why they enrolled in the first place. I had a student that just felt like quitting. I had a talk with the student and found out why. Once i made some minor adjustments, my student started getting better grades. Felt great!

Helen,
Yes they will. In addition they will start to understand they have made the right career choice since they are getting a realistic picture of what they will be doing in the workplace.

students need to know what really goes on in their field of choice by understanding they will be apply

A good strategy for motivating students is by linking the class content to real-life situations. That way, students are able to grasp a much better understanding of the importance of completing the course.

Stanley,
Thank you for sharing this example of how you were able to help a student with just a little time and effort. These interactions with students help us to be able to customize our instruction and provide support for our students in specific ways.
