you must know that all people come from different walk of life and need different approaches in there adult learning. a teacher who can reach out on levels will allways have a higher rention . the students love coming to class because they know you care.
For me, they certaintly do. Knowing I'm making a difference means soemthing.

That's right, students come to class because they know you care. I love hearing, "you're the best teacher because you care and get us involved." That's the best feeling when ending a class.
Understanding a students backround always important because that may be the key as to his low performance and how to bring him out of it simply by understanding what he is capable of in your class as far as his learning ability .
