ED102 Peer Support
When students are working on group projects and I ask the class to help the student sitting next to them, I have some students say that they are not being paid to be an instructor. How do I address that comment?
Gary,
Thank you for your suggestion of telling those students that when they graduate, they will be paid to solve problems or provide service.
Joe
Hi Joseph,
I agree with them. They aren't being paid to be the instructor but they will be paid upon graduation to solve problems or provide service. So in group work/sharing I give them case studies and problems that have them working together which requires some form of sharing and instruction with each other. This approach takes the above type of comments away because they see that they have a problem to solve in order to be successful in the class.
