Enviornments

Creating a cul;ture that your students fell comfortable in is a sure way for retention.

Ashley,
A positive first impression sets the stage for a successful class. The reverse can be true as well and then you spend the entire class trying to dig out of a very deep hole and in many cases never earning the respect of your students.

Also first impressions go a long way. It is always good to start out positive and on a good note with all of your students. This helps to set the tone of the class.
