I feel this is important because if the students know you care that they succeed. It goes along way!

Some students feel there is this Student/Instructor barrier, and they don't want to ask for help in fear of feeling stupid. Instructors must reinforce the fact that they are here to help....

Knowing that you are there for them is a tremendous motivator for non-traditional students. Keep up the good work and reflect on the impact you are having on their lives.

I feel this is so important. I often tell my non-traditional students that if they contact me personally I will work my schedule to meet their needs for one on one toturing. They really appreciate this, and are more motivated to learn. (Saturdays not excluded)
