many years of teaching

I have taught for many years and after reviewing this section of ED 102 Student retention, I was reminded of my challenges when first starting and how I tried to control the class thinking that student challenges were aimed at me personally. Now after this last section of the course, I'm now looking from the experienced instructor point of view, I see where I may have become too focused on refining of the class materials.
I really enjoyed the section entitled the reins of control.

Shiketheia,
These are fun and rewarding ways to show your appreciation for and to your students. Things like this really help with the building of rapport with students.

I try to set the tone in my class each time I see my students. I want to start having those end of the term pizza parties with my students to show them how much I appreciated them the past 12 weeks of class.

Julian,
Great to hear that you enjoyed this part of the course. As we gain more experience we get to enjoy our teaching even more as well as getting to introduce more of our creativity into our teaching.
