Setting the stage for learning

To set the stage for learning clear structure gives students a framework understanding what they are expected to learn. Effective educators introduce the topic and outline the lesson's direction. Instruction should begin by connecting prior learning to current objectives.

Sonja,
You are on the right track. Keep up the effort and as your experience expands so will your expertise. I wish you much teaching success in the future.

As a new instructor, I am learning how to set the stage for positive and respectful learning.I am working on projecting myself as knowledgeable and confident but sometimes my own "human nature" comes out and I mess up!

Pamela,
Connecting the dots is always a great way to build success in a class. Your comments are right on in terms of how this should be done with each class session.
