General Strategies for Student Retention

Make it interesting!

Chukwuka,
Sharing food and conversation is a great way to get interaction started and relationships established as you have seen. So enjoy this time and let the students grow in their relationships with other students as well as yourself.

What I found out in one of my classes is that students will bring snacks for their classmates. It is not scheduled or assigned by them but done on a voluntary basis. Students look forward to sharing and I think it makes them stay in school. Even though I donot participate in bringing and sharing of snacks due to school policies, but I do encourage it.

Charles,
How do you do this since it is such an important part of student engagement? Thanks for your input on this.
