Gal Setting Theory

The goal setting theory is also a pretty popular one amongst the general population. Just so you the folks that fall into their category are driven as result of the types of goals set by the company. In companies where the majority of employees are driven by the goal it is very apparent based on their behavior.

Tonya, great point and this is where leadership is so critical. The more the leadership of an organization can bring the employees to a common level of engagement and commitment to the goal(s) of the institution the more success that institution tends to become. Some other resources to review concerning case studies are the companies profiled by Jim Collins in his books Built to Last and Good to Great. The organizations that experienced the best success were those that were able to gain the highest level of cooperation from their employees.
