Motivation

Motivation is one of the powerful words an instructor will embrace. If an instructor is not motivated it will affect student(s) desire to learn and their ability to succeed.

I agree with you. Just becasue they did not do well on one exam does not mean that they will not pass the class. Like what you said, they need to keep working hard if they want to do better.

I couldn't agree with you more. I find when my student's see I am prepared and amped they become just as excited. My students work more diligently.

I agree 100%, I give real life experiences in all my lectures of times i wanted to quit and what would have happened if i did

DANIEL, I like your focus on never giving up. What other techniques if any do you offer students to assist them with their self-talk? How we think about ourselves and how we speak about ourselves to others can play a major role in our ability to perform so thanks for anything you can share.

I definately agree to lead by example. I use some previous experiences working in Physician offices and hospitals and students are always excited to hear how they will use their skills in these areas.

I tell students all the time that the word quit does not work in this world. They need to keep working hard toward there goal in life what ever that might be.

David, another approach is to focus on leading by example. If the instructor is passionate, always prepared, and shows empathy towards students and their struggles to be successful then these too tend to inspire and motivate students.
