Yes because no one wants to sit in a boring classroom. Getting the students involved helps them learn. Especially in a lab class the instructor has to show that they enjoy what they are teaching the students
Hi Cyndi,
You constantly tell them they CAN do it! Do not give up on them.
Patricia Scales
I try to be motivated but what do you do when the student constantly tell you they can't do it...
Hi Annette,
As instructors we have to be creative with ways to motivate our students. Rah Rah them on; be their biggest cheerleader!

Hi Rick,
You are right! Excitement begins with the instructor!

Hi Moti,
I concur! The instructor certainly sets the tone for the entire class.

I agree. The instructor's attitude is 50% of what it takes to keep students motivated. If the instructor is in total buy in and is excited about what they have been hired to do then he/she will find ways to make it exciting and motivating.
One thing i find that works well is being motivated myself. They see my excitement for the course being taught and join in on that excitement.
Hello Sandra, I think if we as instructors are prepared and inspired to teach, it is easy to motive students. Think of games or topics that motive students.
Hi Sandra,
First and foremost, the instructor has to be motivated/energized to produce an environment that makes the students want to come to class.
