In my opinion, your experience as a boomer also means you tend to be more flexible. The post war days saw a lot of upheaval in the country.
As an instructor I share your observation. It is important to be able to understand and communicate with each generation. I find that being inbetween helps relate to the older and younger students in the classroom

I do believe a big part of our sucess is simply our ability & willingness to work well with others who are different from us, however that may be.
In regard to the names, I'm not sure. The Boomers were named such for obvious reasons & then I think there was pressure to name all of the generations.
