Maricar,

Thank you for sharing a specific instance when a 3D simulation was beneficial to you and your class. Please feel free to share links to some of your favorite simulations with the group. There are many teaching and working in the medical field on this discussion board and I am sure they would find these simulations just as fascinating as you do.

Wishing you continued success in the classroom.

There are many ways to incorporate 3D environment like second life especially in medical field. I remember how fascinating creating your avatar and watching how baby is being delivered in one of the community health clinic at New Zealand. It gives you a better picture of what the procedure is if you feel like you are there during the procedure itself

Heinz,

Yes, this would be a fantastic way to experience a courtroom environment that would educate as well as ease the fears of those intimidated by entering into the field. Have you found a virtual courtroom on SecondLife, and if so, do you feel it successfully emulated the courtroom environment?

Wishing you continued success in the classroom.

With teaching in the medical field, 3D simulations are great in showing and teaching about organs, organ systems and any part of the body structure. Not only is it a visual representation of the information but it helps the student visualize how the organ lies within the body in relation to other structures around it.

Teaching courses in various law issues, a simulated court room could be set up to participate in trials.

Gilbert,

There are virtual cooking schools within Second life that do just this, and they are quite popular with users!

Wishing you continued success in the classroom.

In the culinary field you could use it to simulate setting up a cooking station or even simulating a cooking task that requires the right technique
