T-Shirt Method

T-Shirt activity is a great idea, because this would give students a chance to draw, structures hands on and this way they will remember where the structures are located in the body.

The students get a refresher on where each organ in the body is stationed at. When students do their physical assessment of a patient they have the knowledge of where to ausculate the right organ.

This really makes the information more tangible for what you cannot see. It helps to relate one structure to another along with spatial location.

Laurel, I'm glad this idea resonates with you for your students. It teaches, reinforces, and makes the lesson real for learners.

I love this idea! Hands-on techniques in the classroom are always a hit a prove to be a method of motivating even the most uncooperative learner. Not only is it creating reinforcement by having the student drawing and labeling, but they also are reinforcing each time they wear and play the game. Kudoes for the inspiration!

Great idea you could have them also learn what is in what quadrants.

Kiofa, I know your students will enjoy and benefit from your new taching approach with the cardiovascular system.

I like this one alot. I can't wait to try it. This is one of my favorite topics to teach and I think this will help the students get as excited about the subject (cardiovascular system) as I do. Thanks!

Edward , I'm glad that this is a wonderful addition to the way most of the instructors teach it.

Wow! The possibilities become sort of limitless. I can use this so students learn the anatomy of the lungs: lobes and then segments. The can use the tee to provide "reality" when learning how to listen to the lung via stethoscope, as well as percussion.

Sherry, I like your adaptation to a mask, which is something available and can be personalized by the students.

Michele Deck

I teach dental assisting so a t-shirt wont work for me but a mask might. I think I might use a version of this the next time I teach head and neck anatomy.

Katie, if the group helps to create it, they will remember it for a long time to come.

This is going to be GREAT! My students will really like it. I like the idea of the bed sheet that will be a great group progect!

Odilla, this is both a visual and hands on activity that will bring learners success.

I never thought of it that a T-shirt for an activity, most definitely students will like it and more enjoyable.I will use this and I myself would be glad to locate correctly structures of my body.Working on clinical set-ups sometimes actual patient is not available at certain times and we can have a classroom like discussions even though we are out on the field.

Yes, it is easier for students to remember, because they are learning through the process of vizualization.

Bernardita, yes this is a better hands on model than slides or lectures, and is more memorable.

I love this idea for the T-Shirt method! I never thought about this before but this really hits all our students learning styles. If a student is hands on with their learning or if they are visual ect. It beats the typical lectures and models.

This is another great idea that I can start to implement into my classes!
