Long term memory

Is it true after a certain age that our memory bank is over loaded and not able to hold much information?

Are do we just get lazy and do not chose to remember certain things?

Abdenour, I agree these influence retention. I also know that some instructors are unaware of this. Thank you for highlighting this point.

I believe relevancy , ie. seperating what is important from details is crucial at an early age.
It helps the person retain better and what is important only. Age + Environment do influence retention.

MICHELLE, unless there is a disease process present, the brain is able to learn throughout the life cycle. As a person ages, there is more information to store and access. Accessing information( remembering) can be more difficult as the amount of information increases, but it is possible.
